Discover and contribute to Maleny’s history and heritage.
Maleny’s history is a collection of interesting stories about people and places.
Who was Dundalli? Which early settler was known as the strongest man on the Range? Why was Cherry the cow important? Can you really turn a horse and dray around on the stump of a tree? Which buildings in town and surrounds are part of the early history of Maleny?
Intrigued? Come along to the Maleny Community Heritage Day on 16th February from 8.30am to 2pm to find out the answers to these and other fascinating facts about the history of Maleny and surrounding areas.
As part of an audit of Maleny’s cultural heritage, being conducted by Timeline Heritage for Maleny Commerce, with support from the Maleny Cultural and Historical Society, the Maleny Community Heritage Day will offer the opportunity to explore more about our history, and also provide an avenue for you to suggest what you find special about Maleny’s history and heritage.
If you have any items of historical interest bring them along.
This event is proudly supported by Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Grants Program, Timeline Heritage and the Maleny Historical Village.
