Regulated Parking Map

Information below has been taken from Cr Jenny McKay’s Facebook page to clarify the parking areas.

“Regulation of Parking at Maleny. The Sunshine Coast Council has a responsibility for regulating parking in accordance with the Queensland State laws – the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 and the Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Road Rules) Regulation 2009.

Timed parking will be in Maple Street, Coral Street (opposite the library), Landsborough-Maleny Road and Lawyer Street. These are all signed with appropriate signage indicating the parking requirements.

Regulation will be occurring in the streets indicated on the map, offences include – no parking areas, parking in bus stops, parking inside parking bays, yellow lines etc. to ensure motorists are parked legally. There is no current proposal for additional timed parking in Myrtle or Coral Street (other than opposite the library).

Council’s Regulated Parking Officers have been providing almost 470 fact sheets to the proposed timed areas (mostly in Maple Street) and on vehicles found to be illegally parked. Infringements have already been issued to safety issues such as vehicles parked on yellow lines.

Enforcement commencing on the 1st of March, 2018.”

The Maps below, supplied by Sunshine Coast Council, show the different timed zones in the streets mentioned above. Areas that are not coloured don’t have regulated timed parking and are available for all day parking for businesses and their staff.

The machine is specifically designed to be used to test lung function capability for patients who have respiratory problems including asthma, pneumonia and stroke. Testing these patients allows hospital staff to monitor their improvement during their hospitalisation and tailor their rehabilitation/treatment plans to the greatest effect.
