What We Do
About the Maleny Chamber of Commerce
The Maleny Chamber of Commerce is a community organisation that looks after the business and commerce of our Hinterland locality around Maleny. We seek to assist and represent our business community to local, state and federal governments and their associated agencies. We seek to inform local business of government initiatives from all levels, and ready them for implementation and ongoing support. We seek to have working relationships with all local businesses and desire to create an environment of mutual concern for sustainable living and the betterment of our Maleny community.
Getting This Done…
The Maleny Chamber is organised by an Executive Committee which is elected annually and set the directions agendas of called meetings and social events. It meets monthly during the year (except December & January). These Committee members serve as volunteers and work hard to support this community.
Ongoing Community Programs
Maleny Commerce hosts the annual Maleny Christmas Festival which has been held in Maleny for the past 75 years or more.
The Chamber Executive Committee have instigated a community collaborative group consisting of local service clubs meeting as required to work together in achieving singular projects for the town leading to the
publication of an annual Maleny Events Calendar, the continuation of the Maleny Christmas Festival and currently working on the new entrance sign into Maleny.
We support the Glass House Small Business Awards and every 3rd year we host the Sustainable Futures Expo, with this year joining with Maleny Wood Expo who have created a Sustainability Hub.
